History
Started the business in 1960
The founder, Kosaku started the sushi shop mainly for the delivery with his father who had been operating a few types of business on Horikawa street which is one block west of where current Kikyo sushi is. At that time, there were many Kimono retail shops and small factories making kimono and obi belt, which were his customers.
Renovation
The second generation, Koji renovated the restaurant the bar counter in 1987.
Then after that the big room with tatami floor facing the small garden were newly built.
The restaurant was loved by local people as a family owned sushi restaurant with the laid back-atmosphere.
Right after the renovation in 1987
Bar counter seats are popular for customers.

In 2016, the third generation, Mitsuru returned back to Kyoto after 2 years working at restaurants abroad (Canada and Australia).
As the number of tourists visiting Kyoto increased, the restaurant received more customers from abroad.
